Where It all began

Pinpoint Athlete was established in late 2013 as a training centre for young rugby players, from U/14 all the way up to first grade...

The performance factory

Operating under the name 'The Performance Factory', the focus was centred on creating not only great rugby players, but better men. Our professional standards of strength and conditioning were combined with fortnightly seminars focused on developing positive social skills to encourage young role models within the community. Pinpoint Athlete then grew from these origins to invest in young men who had finally found purpose in life, thanks to the program. Since then, the Pinpoint Athlete family has expanded its reach beyond rugby to embrace the everyday athletes of any gender and ability.

In 2017, owner/director Bill Coffey opened the entire program up to the broader community. His ethos of accountability, attitude, & commitment is at the centre of what you now know as, Pinpoint Athlete

Our Principles

Inspired by the NZ All Blacks, and their 15 values; at Pinpoint Athlete we created our own principles to nurture a culture of dedication to the process of becoming an athlete. Any professional athlete will tell you that their journey is never simply a series of orderly steps that lead in one direction toward success. Your mental health is as important to the process as your muscle strength. We also think your community is as important as your individual performance.

We have created a community of individuals who are accountable to one another as a team. Pinpoint Athlete goes beyond 'group training' to build teams that hold one another accountable and who, of course, make each other laugh!

Our aim is to fire up the positive emotional spark within each of our athletes to generate the resilience and mental focus needed to thrive within the Pinpoint Athlete Programs as well as tackle the everyday challenges of leading a balanced life.
P

pass the ball

Understand, interpret, and empower yourself through information gained... So much so, that you develop the ability to pass that knowledge on to others.
I

Improvement

Never find yourself standing still on your pursuit to personal excellence. Challenge yourself always and take the time to find new targets.
N

No dickhead policy

Understand, interpret, and empower yourself through information gained... So much so, that you develop the ability to pass that knowledge on to others.
P

Play with purpose

No matter what you do in life, or in training - always do it to the best of your ability. Train how you play, and never consider "enough" to become a personal standard.
O

own the unknown

Take comfort in the uncomfortable. To discover great heights, you must search unknown peaks. When you master the ability to travel into the unknown to search for more, you will never falter when gifted challenges unexpected.
I

invest in you

You are your biggest investment. Take the time, spend the money, and generate the habits that propel you forward on your journey. If it doesn't benefit you, then do not invest in it.
N

Negativity holds no gains

The way you speak, the way you act and the way you perceive yourself should never hold negativity. Not once in history has doubt ever launched anyone into greatness. The way you treat others is the way you perceive yourself. Start the process of being kind to others and in time, you will be kind to yourself.
T

Talk with purpose

Your internal and external dialect directs your actions. Speak with conviction. Replace language such as "I wanna" with one simple phrase: "I will". Let's be honest, you either will or you won't... what's it going to be?
A

Actions

Own your actions.
The way in which you act is completely your choice. Your character will be judged upon the way you react to challenges and hurdles. Only you are responsible for your actions, as they will have consequences. Do not blame others for your wrong doings, simply own them, adjust and advance.
T

Trust your ability

You are capable.
You deserve to be exactly where you are. Every challenge put in front of you is one you are ready for. Whether it be ready to learn or ready to conquer, either way, trust in your ability because doubting it will only hinder your progress.
H

HUmility

Personal humility.
Never be too big to do the small stuff. Treat others as equals, take the time to help others clean up after themselves. Sweet the sheds, as personal humility isn't thinking less if yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.
L

Leave your mark

Leave the facility in a better place than you found it. Bring positivity, character, culture and effort with you every time you step inside the doors. The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone. The things you do for others will leave their mark long after you leave this place.
E

Excuses

NO EXCUSE POLICY.
If you look hard enough, you can find an excuse in every situation in life. You will fall short of your capabilities if you constantly find the exit strategy. Do not let yourself or others find an excuse and in time you will find that no challenge is too big to take on.
T

True Reps

Only you truly know your capabilities. Only you know if you can do more. It is up to you and only you to decide whether what you're doing is true to your effort or you're just taking the piss. True reps only.
E

Environment

Create a learning environment. When knowledge is shared amongst your team, it promotes positive growth for everyone. It is in this space that we inspire innovation and invention. Surround yourself with people who want to absorb and share information and never believe an idea is solely owned by you. Be an influence, share so much knowledge that you need to gain more.

“The pinpoint community,

shaped by some exceptional leaders and trainers, has challenged me more than I could've ever imagined. I am obsessed with the positive atmosphere and dedicated members. I feel truly grateful to be a part of such a special group and can't wait for what's to come."
Bailey Hillier
SENIOR OPTOMETRIST

“It’s weird to say you found your family at a gym

but Pinpoint has felt like home from day one. Not only has this place made me the strongest and fittest I have ever been, but it’s pushed me to feel comfortable in the uncomfortable. Pinpoint has supported me in some serious sporting achievements this year and I can’t thank the boys enough for the constant support and love!!
